Forcing Fate.

i sought to lift the veil of uncertainty
but the curtains He'd drawn across my foresight
were a single sheet

i could not feel edge nor pleat
and clawing clumsily i tore the sheet.

as i peered through the gaping tear
a freezing wind admonished, whistling with despair:
"for every one of these you rip
we add 10 more and loosen your grip
on certainty of what's behind
(let not this counsel be maligned)

but if you fear Him righteously
persevere, you might just see
the curtain turn to clarity."

the wind abruptly disappeared
i raised my palms with hope and fear
i tasted salted tears sincere
and turned and walked away from here.

-for my symbol of God-
